Great Location!

I moved to the Lofts@Woodward from the 'burbs to see if I wanted to live downtown. I have found the experience quite fun. The units I have rented ($1395 & $1700) were architecturally neat. Beautiful windows & neat layouts. Very cheap materials used in kitchens/bathrooms & shoddy workmanship. Maintenance is responsive and cooperative. It was difficult to arrange cable since connections are locked away and management not always on site to allow access. Windows overlooking Woodward have been cleaned once in 3 years. For the rent, upkeep should be better. Management turn over is rapid but people have been nice. Tenants are generally very friendly & respectful. Some guests have been incredibly rude with noise, banging on doors after midnight, and dumping trash in common areas. Dogs allowed & owners have been very considerate. Parking is a touchy issue; gated lot is nice but limited space. Walk to underground parking is inconvenient in winter (Note: There have been no muggings from what I know & street people aren't really aggressive. When I first moved in there were limited restraunt choices...not the case now. Atleast 10 good spots near by esp, Oslo, Small Plates, Detroit Beer Company, Venciente, Thai Orchid, & now Ben & Jerry's!! Improvements at Campus Martius are GREAT!! I really love the location...management needs to respond to competition w/upgrades in materials.
