Detroit urban living

The apartments are reasonably priced for downtown living, it would be very difficult to find such a noteworthy address at less than $1000.00 in Chicago, New York, Phoenix or Toronto. But this is Detroit. The complex is in the shadow of the Ren Cen, but the Ren Cen is going through major renovations- still- and the buildings after 6PM are very dead. The movie theatre is gone, and except for some times of the year, such as the autoshow in Jan, it is a very subdued place. The Detroit people Mover station is located in the Millender Center and is good transit to greektown, MGM Grand, ballparks, and fiancial district Cobo Hall, but itr closes at 11PM. There is really no place to walk in Detroit, it can be risky at night to just head out along Jefferson to get some air, and this can be further aggravated because there is really no food store close by, shopping requires a flight to Oakland Mall or at least up John R. into Madison Heights. The store on site is expensive because it serves the hotel crowd. At times the traffic along Jefferson into Canada can be aggravating, but it still is a good place to feel in the middle of a very american city.
