Millendar Center - GREAT Place to Live

I have lived in the Millendar Center for four years. I don't have one complaint about the time that I've been here. This is a perfect place to live for a single female. They have 24 hour security at the front desk and there is always a security officer roaming the hallways and checking the security of the doors. No visitors are allowed past security without the officers receiving clearance from the tenant. I have an alarm on my unit that connects to the front desk. I have mistakenly opened the door in the morning a few times and every time I do I get a call from the guard to make sure that everything's alright.

I am constantly commenting about how I feel like the only tenant in the Millendar Center because I hardly see neighbors and it's extremely quiet and I live next to the general laundry room. When I first moved in I was concerned about being on the 8th floor, which is the most trafficked floor with the study room, access to the back elevators and workout facility, but I don't hear a thing.

I haven't had any major maintanence issues since I've been here. I've only had to call them to replace a light bulb or put the closet door back on track, but when I call they are "Johnny on the spot." The staff from the janitors, to the housekeepers, to the parking attendants are very nice. The decor and cleanliness of the place can't be beat. I marvel at the fact that I've only seen one ant since I've lived here and that was this summer. That's amazing for a highrise building. I have NEVER seen a roach and I would not have stayed here one day past seeing one.

You can't beat the price for this luxury living. The only utility I pay for is electricity and that's a minimal fee. Everything else (i.e. water, gas and even cable) is included. I thought about moving some place else, but everytime I look elsewhere, it doesn't compare. No matter where else I go you I will have to pay for at least cable.

For the person who wrote the negative review of the place...I think that it's shameful especially since they've never actually lived here. I have NEVER had my car vandalized and I have parked on every floor of the parking garage. I always feel safe going into the garage no matter the time of day or night it is because Renaissance supplies 24 hour security and it's extremely well lit with emergency phones included. I've only ran across professionals inside of this building and if there were "drug dealers" that lived here how would you or anyone else know what they looked like at the quick glance you see someone as they walk by' If there were "drug activity" occurring here wouldn't you think that the security we alert management of a heavy traffic volume coming in and out of a specific unit' Trust me the security is very tight and would've reported it.

I love living here. I enjoy watching the fireworks every year. The view of the river and downtown is great. It's in walking distance to everything (i.e. Greektown, Festivals, Campus Martius). It's great to be able to walk a few steps in the morning and buy my Starbucks coffee. There's a connecting tunnel to the RenCen, which provides access to the post office, shops, the food court and upscale restaurants.

I also enjoy the free amenities that this place provides, which includes a cardio work out room, a weight room, free aerobics classes, an outdoor track, a tennis court, a swimming pool, a jacuzzi and a steam room. They also provide an area for people to just sit out in the summertime and watch the river or the Jefferson traffic pass by.

Now tell me whereas can you go inside or outside of the city that will provide you with so much for so little'
