I lived in the Park Shelton for about a year in 1996. Its located right next to Wayne State University, the Detroit Institute of Arts, and the The Detroit Public Library. The 400 square foot studio (#706) I lived in was descent. The carpets were clean and the appliances were in good working order. Laundry facilities were adequate while I lived there and located in the basement. Management was responsive to tenents needs and I liked the professional way that things were handled even if the manager had no personality. The larger 1 bedroom units facing Kirby (south) were very nice and had some old fashioned character to them, and they are much quieter thatn the studios due to hallway noise (my girlfriend lived in a one bdrm). The construction was very solid, not at all like they build things today. But don't choose this place if you have a car that you care about. The garage is too small for the building so cars are parked very close together and tend to get dinged by opening doors. There was also a resauraunt, but its a greasy spoon type of place - and too expensive. I would recommend this building for any responsible Wayne State student or professional working in the area.
