I've lived in the 633 Prentis building for over a year and I love it here! A great location near Wayne State University, the Cultural District, many local shops and restaurants, and only a 15-20 min walk (or 5 min drive) from downtown (Comerica Park, Ford Field, Fox Theater, State Theater, Magic Stick, Majestic Theater, Hart Plaza, Greektown, downtown, ETC). 2 local grocery stores near by, easy access to ALL local freeways, clean nice environment (hard to find in Detroit), a Laundromat across the alley, in building laundry, plenty of neighborhood activities, delightful residence, descent parking for a city of 1 million people, well lit entry/rear entry, hardwood floors, vintage building, great winter heat (radiant), high speed internet ready (and cheap too!), reasonable rent, Rob (the current building manager) and David (the former manager) are wonderful and considerate. A great maintenance crew, there's no noise from neighbors, Detroit Police officers who live IN and NEAR the building, and many more wonderful things about a place I am proud to call home.
By far, the best renting experience of my life. Thank you 633 Prentis Corp!

You want to live in Renaissance, be my guest, just don't mind the cockroaches(your new roomates), the crackheads or hookers outside, oh and did I mention if you enjoy muggings then this is the place for you, cass corridor. The landlord is definitely a slumlord, watch yourself.

I enjoyed living there, and the building manager at the time was a great guy. It isn't perfectly safe in the Cass Corridor. I had my car stolen once and broken into once. Parking can be a nightmare especially if you come home late at night and in the winter, it's hell. Wayne State Police do come quickly when called, which is a plus. The building does have problems with roaches. Some apartments worse than others. I was lucky where I was located. I did have one tenant that lived above me who loved to wear heels all the time and clunked across the wooden floor with no thought for anyone else. And sounds from the hallway carried. You could hear whenever anyone arrived or left the building. Yet, I lived their 4 years and I loved it. Not everyone is cut out for the Cass Corridor, but it can be a very exciting, vibrant community of people as well.
