Things went downhill when new management started

Seems like the Strohs decided they needed to make more money out of Riverplace and brought in a new management company to do this. First thing that happened was a high-impact response to late payment. The first month PPM started I received a court summons for incomplete payment of rent - the only problem was I had payed. The management company had simply miscalculated but rather than checking up simply filed a court summons. Written apology promised - received ... no.
Every luxury apartment complex has some kind of gym right' So did RiverPlace last year, they payed your membership for any local gym to compensate for having nothing on site. Then midway through my lease this year this was just stopped - no reason given. Even though this broke the terms of the agreement upon which the lease was made and effectively increased rental costs about 500 USD/year.
Then there's the rent. The last management company said rent was basically fixed with minor changes. I just received a letter to say that my lease could be renewed as a special offer for 'only' 600USD/year increase provided I signed before a given date. On top of that there are the huge utility bills that relate not at all to your use of the heating.
Apartments are generally comfortable, but have no river views and because it's lowrise there's always noise from people coming back from parties late at night.
In short, you better have fat pockets if you're considering moving here.
