Luxury at its finest

My husband and I have lived in Riverfront for 8 months so far. Yes, the rent is pretty high. But we don't mind paying it for the convenience (as long as the rent doesn't increase!) Plus, we save money for not driving as much. You really can't beat a better location in downtown Detroit. The walking tunnels connect to the People Mover and Joe Lewis Arena. Cobo Hall is right around the corner, and we extremely enjoyed walking to the summer festivals in Hart Plaza every weekend during the summer. All the apartments include washer/dryer, which is nice. I also LOVE that we have a hair salon, dry cleaners and small grocery store in the complex. (The salon is GREAT! What a convenience!) I read a review some time ago about a rat problem here, but to be honest, I have never seen one rat (and I went searching for them outside just to be sure!) They allow dogs here, which is nice, but management is slow to put "doggie bags" outside. The tenants who have dogs rely on those bags to pick up the dog's "mess", so when management is EXTREMELY slow to put the bags up, you have to watch where you step because there's waste all over. (I don't blame the tenants for that, I blame management.) It's noticeable that the leasing office and the residential services office do not communicate as often as they should (one office will tell you one thing, the other will tell you another). Also, management here has no problem charging residents for anything. (like broken key cards.) But overall, we really enjoy living here. It's wonderful (and our view of Canada is spectacular.) The community room and accessibility of the suite are nice features, and the security is on point.
