Our gas bill has been over $140 per month for the last six months. I was told it was because of the increase in gas. My apartment is 1050 sq feet, I do not understand. When I contacted a member of the management staff, she said they hand the bill over to AUM a third party biller & they bill us. I went on vacation in January for a whole month, when I return my bill was still $150!!!!!!!
When I complained, I was told the heating bill for the entire building is split up and each apt is charged a portion depending on the size of your apt. I could not believe my ears! I have spent countless days in December with little or no heat, trying to reduce my heating bill only to find out that it does not matter is I turn the heat off or set it at 100 degrees!
Why don??t each apt have a meter to measure usage''''' Just like the electricity bill from DTE' She couldn??t give me an answer, but looked confused and speechless.
PLEASE let DTE handle both electricity and heating of resident??s apts. That way the residents would only pay for what they ACTUALLY used!
