Living in the building is great....very quiet, 24 hour security, functional (but slow) elevators. Only problems are street parking when there's a tiger's or lions game, and the people loitering on the street during the warm months. i can't say walking on the street is completely safe after the sun goes down, and my car got broken into 3 times, but i guess that's detroit in general. that aside, the management is good, and I would live here longer if it weren't so far a drive to get to work. a new ymca is very close by, so i didn't have to use the ancient exercise room. i would recommend this for anyone who doesn't need to commute far and likes a good deal on rent!

Washington Square is under new management. The new owners are doing a multi-million dollar upgrade to the entire building including the elevators. We are working with the Detroit Police Department to ask vagrants to move along. However, much like any large college town or large city downtown area, there will be vagrants that walk around. We are very proud of the progress we have made and the renovations we will continue to make in the coming year. Washington Square has the best value for your rental dollar.
