WSU Housing has problems

Would be a great place to live, but WSU Housing does its very best to keep it from being so. Some floors are quiet, but some are very loud. Our apartment smelled so bad of curry and grease it took 3 days of heavy fans and airing to make it livable, the university felt it was ok as is. Floors and walls clean, appliances looked like they were cleaned in 15 seconds, grease was on every non-flat surface around stove, dripping from the vent, on the walls, etc. The absolute worst problem here are the student athletes, who act like feral children running wild. The noise is ridiculous, loud music, yelling, occasional fire alarms, puke in hallways, urine in stairwells, the smell of pot reaking from many people as they are walking about, and the building isn't very safe with multiple fire exists being blocked open and traffic in and out, lots of people students and their familes living here when they are over the limit of occupants, university only lip services that they are correcting the problem. Parking lot is typical student lot, nobody cares about other cars and have gotten half a dozen dents in my car panels, the gates are constantly being broken by people driving through them, security cameras outside are a joke, at best. If you face the west side of the building, it is VERY loud as people sit in front of the building with the music on in their cars, yelling etc. Don't bother calling the front desk to complain, or the campus police, the desk is some student who doesn't want to be there and the campus police are a pathetic joke, a disgrace to anything in uniform, be it law enforcement or a McDonalds employee. And the A/C isn't even started until May 15, which means it actually starts working in June, in the meantime your west facing apartment can reach into the 80's in early March, 90's in April, and once recorded 98 degrees F in May, inside, with all windows shaded. Management didn't care, housing at WSU is a joke and needs to be outsourced to a management company. The prices go up each year and the service and quality down. If you can find something nearby, go for it. uWDgQKY3Vkv8FKIsB8Ax

Pretty much dead on. Transfering management of the building to an outside contractor and removing the student athletes to the dormitories would immensely improve the quality of the place, as well as alarms on the fire doors and security cameras preventing the unauthroized usage therof. Wayne St. Univ. Housing Authority leaves much to be desired in it's operations and management.
