At first the apartments, community, and management didn t seem that bad. They seemed to be reasonably nice apartments in a family based community, but the first month and the remaining months of the lease turned into a complete nightmare. This rating is not intended to defame the apartment complex or its management in any way; it s to inform future residents of what they are getting into. I will break the rating categories down and explain why I rated them the way I did.

1. Parking 1 out of 5: The spaces are large but there aren t enough parking spaces per apartments. Kids are constantly playing on cars and in the parking lot areas unsupervised. In the winter the sidewalks and parking lot barely get plowed. Numerous cars have been broke in and/or keyed. (Check police records prior to moving in).

2. Noise 1 out of 5: Walls are extremely thin. You can hear everything for the surrounding apartments. Kids run around the complex unsupervised, sometimes knocking on doors and running away.

3. Grounds- 3 out of 5: Grounds look nice. Some pet owners need to pick up their pet waste

4. Safety- 1 out of 5: I don t know if it s like this in every apartment, but my front door has about an inch gap between the door and the frame making it easy to break in. Maintenance said they can t fix it. Cars are constantly being vandalized. Crack heads knock on your door occasionally asking for money. Police are in the complex a lot for various reasons.

5. Construction- 1 out of 5: Apartments are poorly built. Horrible craftsmanship. Cheap appliances. None of my doors in my apartment actually shut. The ducts aren t properly set up, only 2 rooms in the house actually receive decent heat. Some outlets don t work. Every time it rains certain bulbs burn out in my house (outside light and down stairs) due to a short. I could go on, but I think you get the idea.

6. Maintenance 2 out of 5: I see the maintenance guys working a lot. I can t blame them for horrible construction of the buildings. Although I have tried to requested service, I ended up fixing it myself. Based on some of the patch jobs done prior to my move in, I would also have to question his craftsmanship

7. Staff- 1 out of 5: Management has changed several times during the duration of my lease. Residence has received several rude letters hung on our doorknob which makes me question managements people skills and management background. One of the letters that was placed on my door was a Pet lease agreement. Please keep in mind that I do not own a pet. In this letter it stated something like Please don t act like we are dumb. We know who has and who doesn t have pets. Failure to notify us of a pet will result in an eviction. Another letter wanted each resident to do an inventory of the washer and dryers in the units. This letter stated something like Let us know whether you own or rent the washer and dryer in the apartment. We need the model and the serial number of both. If you do not reply to this letter by tomorrow we will come in to your apartment and do an on the spot inspection on a time in date of our discretion.

Overall I wouldn't even give this place a star unless your a repo man. I like to call it the ghetto of Dewitt.
