When my husband & I first moved to Walkabout we thought it was a nice place to begin our new life together. After only 1 month of living there we discovered we'd made a mistake. The staff is rude & oblivious to all the concerns & needs of the tenants. Luckily they have replaced the Leasing agent & we'd hoped the new person would get things done in a more timely fashion....we were dead wrong! It is anything but better. The maintenance crew-if that is what you want to call them, I still don't know exactly what they do! We have been waiting for over 6months for our work orders to be done. When we first moved in there was a bee/wasp problem & they sprayed our apt with a bug killer that is only approved for outdoor use! Thanks a lot!
On a positive note, the clubhouse is very nice & always clean. They welcome parties & socializing within the clubhouse & that is really a nice convenience. They also host several "get togethers" per year, they it's always nice to get to know your neighbors. The workout room isn't very big, but clean & they have enough for a quick workout.
We were lucky to have great neighbors, and didn't suffer from loud kids or yelling. However there are always kids and TODDLERS running in the streets unattended by an adult! They don't look & say nasty things to passers by. Mgmt has yet to do anything to solve this. They write 2-3 sentences in their monthly flier, but obviously that isn't cutting it.
My overall opinion would be to look elsewhere, they are very expensive & even though it might seem that you get a lot for the money, you really don't. They hike up your rates to outragous levels if you want to renew your lease & it's just not worth it.
