My first off-campus living experience was at 2900 Place way back in 1996-97 (yes, I've been around for a while). It was great--very well-maintained, cheap, not a lot of extra charges. I moved back to 2900 for 2000-2001. I was woefully disappointed. Besides the rent being much higher, the place looked a bit on the shabby side, and service calls took forever to answer. To make things worse, the power bill for one month was $230, and the jackhammers on the balconies woke me up every morning for three weeks. I used to have fond memories of 2900. Not anymore.
