I moved in here last August and it has been a nightmare.

Here's the letter I sent to management, to which they replied with a rude and sarcastic letter basically telling me I was lying... Which is not the case-
To 2900 Place Apartments
-When I moved into this apartment complex I had heard mixed reviews from previous renters, the main complaint being the ongoing construction. I decided to move in because of the reasonable rent and the distance from campus. Ever since, I have been extremely disappointed with my apartment and wish I had considered more options.
-I was told that I would not be able to hear my neighbors through the foot thick cinder block yet I can hear my neighbors fight and snore, and can hear the workout room television and machines and people while I sleep in my bedroom.
-There was a fire in my hall where no alarms went off and it took more than an hour to evacuate the building because there is no fire alarm system.
-The parking lot was consistently icy during the winter months.
-I was told that utilities would be fairly low, between $50-60, yet I always pay around $100 even when I make a conscious effort to minimize the bill.
-I was awakened one Saturday morning at 8:30am by a knock on the door so that a gentleman could clean my bathroom because there was water leaking through the ceiling from a sink on the 3rd floor.
-My friend in _____ has had his bathroom ceiling fall through twice in the same year. The first time he had to live with me for 2 weeks with no compensation for the reduced time he was living there. Had I not lived here I do not know where he would have stayed.
-Now I have to deal with construction workers banging away at my walls from the hallway all day during finals week. I was not aware that this was going to happen when I moved in.
-Had I known that my stay in this apartment complex was going to be this horrible I would never have signed a lease and paid the high rent for this apartment that stares out at a huge dumpster.

NEVER SIGN A LEASE HERE! You will regret it. Go someplace else. It's too far from campus and just not worth the pain. I haven't moved out yet, but I will be having a celebration when I do... I wonder what charges they'll hit me with for damages that aren't here.

I totally agree with you. I live here as well, and the noise is just awful. I had someone from maintenance actually come to my apartment and ask me to move my car. I said I was leaving in half an hour, and he said I had to do it now. And for what? Nothing! They just blocked off the spot, and then did nothing with it. I came home from work lat one night to find my bathroom ceiling with a hole in it, and a bad leak. My kitchen sink leaks and has been "fixed" twice. The rent is high, high, high. The pool area is shaded, so what's the point? DO NOT MOVE HERE!

Hey, I may have lived above one of you guys. They stopped by my our apt a couple of times to investigate whether or not it was coming from us. The first time, they knocked and we were there, but one time, we came home to find somebody had been in our bathroom. Disconcerting to say the least. A few minutes later a new maintenance person (the usual guy is pretty good about knocking and asking permission) knocked once and was halfway through the door before we got to it to answer it. We didn't make a big deal of it, since we were leaving anyway, but that's a huge violation of the lease agreement.

Listen, I don't know what any of you guys are talking about? I have never had any one enter my apartment without first giving them permission.

Yes this is true I remember hearing about this too. They probably will charge you when you move out for the damage caused there, too. They somehow added $2000 onto my roomates bill and our apartment was nice clean and carpet dhampoosed before we left. They wqont' even tell me why they added these fees well above and beyond the security deposit they stole. Also, if you ever see any comments jsutifying 2900 place, by anonymous, its probably a part of the staff there.
