I ask first of all that you ignore my rating. Even tyhough I have no love for DTN either; your staterents are inaccurate about them and the issue with the fire. First of all, DTN did not own or even manage Abbott Pointe until September of 2003. The fire happened about a year prior to that. I know because one of the tenants that that lived at said property moved to a DTN property after the fire. Abbott Pointe was owned by Allstate Management at the time.

As far as cleaning the hallways once a month this is normal in most apartment complexes. The ones I worked at were cleaned this frequenly as well. Another thing that tenants need to recognize before they get too mad at maintenance or the leasing staff is that this is a thankless job at best. From tenants and management. They're generally underpaid and underappreciated by superiors. This happens at even at the best companies; DTN is no exception.

This isn't to make DTN the bad guy either; there's only so much money to go around. Even on a property such as Abbott Pointe. The staff is probably reminded of this on a daily basis as well. It gets real stressful when tenants complain about things that the maintenance or leasing staff really have no control over. That probably one reason the turnover is so high in property management. Still if the staff is taking this all out on you, the tenant; that isn't right either.

DTN has a reputation for fixing up properties regardless of the cost, other management companies spend a maximun of $250 per unit per year. They has more of an image problem than anything else at this point. I say this even though they let me go.
