DO NOT live at Hidden Tree... the "management" is hidden

I cannot stress this enough, DO NOT live at Hidden Tree Apartments. The not-so-new "management", Elements National "Management", which took over half a year ago, is the most incompetent "management" I have ever dealt with. Everything, and I do mean EVERYTHING, is a fight with them, even paying your rent! Repeated requests to have anything done, and I do mean ANYTHING, including my lease renewal (!), are completely ignored. Things only get done when you talk to the right person (there's only one) and get nasty with that person. Simply put, the beginning of every month is a fight with them, it is no way to live. I have lived in numerous apartment communities in three different states, and this one has become the absolute worst experience. I have lived at Hidden Tree for three years and do not like the idea of moving just because the new "management" is deplorable. I like the complex and its location, but if the current situation continues I will likely go through the trouble and expense of moving elsewhere. Yes, it is really that horrible. The list goes on, but I will not fill pages full of them.

As along-time resident, I completely agree with everything.
It would have been a wonderful community IF the management
would care at least a little. I believe that the City of East Lansing has even imposed some penalties, but this may not have been enough.

It was great when I moved in, but I agree that it's gone downhill. I think it started when that older woman Linda left. They don't do even basic maintenance to the complex. For example, one of the two bulbs has been out on the lights that mark the Harrison Street entrance for at least nine months. I've mentioned it to them, and it hasn't been fixed. How hard could it be to change a light bulb? To have something like that right at the entrance makes it seem like the place is going to be really shabby. It'd turn me off from renting there. I called maintenance about the smoke detector in the building hallway needing a battery change, and instead of just changing it, they took out the battery completely so it doesn't work. Is that even legal?
