1. Utilities. Before I move in, I was told that average utilities per month is around $40. It is a big lie and $40 can only cover your electricity. In the winter, I turn the heating off after I go to school and turn it on when I get home around 10 pm everyday and I still have to pay $180 for only heating!!!
2. Big but thin window. That window is totally a disaster in winter. You could see the wind blowing blinds and you will be frozen to death if you have dinner around it.
3. Quietness. Yes, it is in the summer. But in the winter, because of that window, heating system is running almost every two or three minutes. That huge sound will make you refreshing all the time even when you wanna go to sleep.
4. Service. Every time when you turn in your rent, they smile happily to you and their service is great. But when you need their service or when you want to move out, you should be very very careful!!! When I move out and I turn in the key, they say everything is fine and I can get my deposit one month later. Two weeks ago, I get their check and I get only $40 and they charge me of $120 for damage without any words. Last week I went to argue with them for reason and they said that there were some stains on the carpet and they replaced it all. They could not show their evidence and they complained to me that I should work through maintainence with them together. THEY never told me it before that and I don't know it because I am an international student of MSU. They laughed at me and said to me that don't use it for an excuse.
In a word, they are liars and if you really want to know what darkness of US life it is, go ahead and they will teach you a good lesson which you can't learn from school!

This person was my neighbor and he is a complete idiot! His carpet was disgusting and all he did was complain about being charged for it!!!! He always said they were screwing him cause he was foreign; in reality he just didn't know how to clean!! My hallway always smelled because of him!!!! Thank god he moved out!
