When you are signing your lease they tell you about all the ammenities they have available. Later you will find out that they don t hold up. We were promised a full fitness center with free weights. Instead we got a tiny room with like 6 machines and some treadmills. I would say that the most disappointing part of Chandlers is that nothing gets maintained. The buildings never get vaccumed. The bulbs in the tanners never get changed. The machines in the fitness center never get lubricated. There is one custodial employee for 13 buildings. He spends all day picking up trash. For the money that you pay to stay here, they can afford to hire some more employees. They call it a gated community but people always drive through the tiny little gates they have. The replace them atleast twice a week. You pay for a lot of broken promises but it is still a great place to live. You have your own bedroom and bathroom. If you sign up for a new building it is even better because you are the first tennant to ever live there so nothing is broken and everything is clean. There is enough parking so that everyone in your apartment can have a car. Eventhough it is a long way from campus, the bus comes every 10min. This saves the hassle of finding a parking spot. The pool is great when it is nice out. Many people compare it to a springbreak scene because on any given nice day there will be 100 collge students all around the pool. At night the hot tub livens up a lot. It kind of sucks being so far from the bar but there are so many cheap taxis out there that you get a ride home for like $2-4. Thats much cheaper than a DUI. There are also 3 or 4 bars being built in between Chandlers and Melrose that should be open by May of 03. I am renewing my lease for the 03- 04 year but I am also down at the office a lot, trying to get them to live up to their promises.
