I have lived in the Village since they opened in the same apartment. I have always paid my rent on time, taken out my own trash, and followed the lease I signed and I have never received any "ridiculous" fines. Almost everyone in my building renewed for this year and many are planning on renewing for next year. The management changes have been a lot better than previous management here and the staff is always friendly even if they can't help. Don't let a few people's bad opinions make up your mind if you should move here or not. I lived in other places in East Lansing where I have had to keep my stove open to heat my apartment and then open my windows to cool it down in the middle of winter and when my roommates wanted to move out, I got stuck with the whole lease. At least that won't happen at the Village. I would recommend the Village to anyone.
