Horrible Horrible Horrible

Years at this apartment: 2001 - 2003
The people that say they love it must be employees of this complex because there is no way anyone would like Diamond Forest. I too was shown a model because I was told the apartment I would be getting was lived in - which was a lie. It had been empty for months. When I first moved in, the place was so incredibly dirty it made me ill. The appliances were all falling apart and some seemed older than me. I also noticed the massive amount of dead bugs covering the floor - which I discovered is due to the fact that the foundations are cracked in almost every building. Management knows about this but will not fix due to cost. I clean up spiders, beatles, potato bugs, worms, earwigs, etc. on a daily basis. And we're not talking a few here and there...there are tons. Also on my first day, the water heater blew and water was going everywhere, what knobs did exist on appliance were falling off, there was a funny smell, I was told there would be new carpeting but there wasn't and the carpet had stains, and much more. I could go on and on. I am now entering my third year at Diamond Forest because it's been too expensive too move. Although my problems have been fixed with temporary band-aids I have moved into even bigger problems. When I moved in I was told it would cost me 150% of one month's rent to break my lease which sounded way too good to be true. Now I am trying to buy a house and went to inquire about my lease breaking and they informed me it would cost thousands and I'd have to keep paying until it was rented - there are a ton of vacancies. I found it hilarious that they told me I would also have to pay for the cleaning , painting and carpet-cleaning.....that was never even done when I first moved in! The place was a dump and very dirty!!! Oh and watch out for the mail-lady....she frequently goes into the management office and gossips about you to the Diamond Forest staff spreading your personal business around! And their motto is....if you can cover it up - don't fix it...they are told to not even paint if the walls aren't that bad! My advice would be to get on the good side of a maintenance person...this is the only way you will be taken care of! Oh and word to the wise....do not EVER sign up for automatic rent deduction. They will continue to deduct from your account even after you leave. It's happened to me and many other residents I spoke with. It took me months to get my money back. Do yourself a huge favor...instead of paying over a thousand a month for a dump, buy yourself a house. You'll thank me for that bit of advice!!!!
