Like all apartments...it isn't perfect

I have been a resident at Diamond Forest for approximately two years. They are pretty quick to respond to maintenance issues. If you don't contact them, they don't know to repair it. I have had issues with our hallway light going out, they fixed that. Had issues with our hot water tank...they replaced that. We have fairly new appliances. We have had issues with our furnance...they fixed that. We even had two little critters get into our apartments after living here for a year and a half. Don't know how-but they sent out an exterminator immediately. Haven't seen once since...knock on wood. They have a huge spider problem, but what do you expect when you live off the woods. You can call the maintenance people to spray, but I just buy my own bug spray. If you don't like huge spiders..don't move here. Let's see.... The front office staff are pretty friendly. If you want things done...immediately-other than maintenance, you have to talk to the right person, because the other one will leave you hanging...LITERALLY. They are pretty quick about plowing the apartment complex when it snows. I would recommend getting your own shovel, because they only plow the road. Therefore, you have to drive over snow banks when you are trying to park or back out of a parking spot. This is extremely annoying-especially when you have babies. Exterior wise, some apartment buildings are cleaner than others. I think they take their time on the back units. If you love dogs...BIG DOGS and big poop...hey this place is for you. For the most part, the residents do a good job with cleaning up the dog poo. It isn't cool when you look out of your window and see dog poo on fresh snow. I like the ideal of having a walking trail here, but I don't go back there. Too many dogs and my baby doesn't like it. The pool area is always nice and clean. Trash is almost never overloaded. The apartments are huge. Only downfall...no storage. I like the fact that they are close to everything. The neighbors are pretty friendly. Farmington Hills police always ride through here. Haven't heard anything about any crime over here. Very quiet community. Very diverse community. Have tenants ranging from 18 to 100. The rent is pretty reasonable also for all of the square footage and amenities. I don't think I'll be renewing my lease here simply because I want to move to another area. This isn't the Hamptons, but it isn't a bad place to call home.
