Here are the pros:
-Initial price of rent and move-in (I was told when going to renew that the rent "only goes up")
-Location (close to freeways, shopping, and sidewalks)
-Abundance of walking trails around the complex
-Speed of maintenance response
Here are the cons:
-ALL appliances in the apartment were AWFUL
-Apartments are not very well maintained (painting is sloppy, closet doors, screen doors not attaced to hinges/tracks, carpeting was stained and began to come apart shortly after moving in)
-Frequency of required maintenance calls (to fix problems)
-Apartments are VERY cold in the winter time (its as if the wind blows right through the large window leading to the deck). We had frost on the inside of our window for most of the winter.

We moved into Hillside Forest in December 2008. We are extremely happy with our apartment. We were funished with all new counter tops, a brand new stove and all white doors throughout the apartment. The maintenance has been perfect. They come whenever you call.
We moved here from Silverbrook and there is no comparison.
This place is very well maintained. Lois & Jack Anstandig

As Loja1050 reported we too moved in December 2008. We love our apartment have no issues with maintenance. Our only concern is the thin ceiling. We hear everything our neighbors do.
