I ve read many apartment reviews and never thought I d actually write one myself. When I first moved to Spring Valley, the staff was pleasant and friendly. However, the utilities bills are really high. I was told the average total utilities are $150. I downsized from a 2bedroom 2 bath to Spring Valley 1bedroom w/ den. In my previous apartment, my utilities were 50% less then my current bills. I decided to do some research and visit other community s. Guess what' They all said the same thing. It s a commonly used guideline within apartment communities.
Last October when the weather was still nice, my gas bill was $100. My average thus far has been $120-$160 per month. Doesn t that seem high' I thought so but after many discussions with the management, there is nothing that can be done. It was recommended that I purchase a space heater.
As far as staff old and new staff, Mike the maintenance manager and his crew is OUTSTANDING. The rest of the staff is ok, their not mean but don t seem to go above and beyond. The area is nice, neighbors are quiet and friendly. It s nice to have the fireplace (only heats small area but that s ok). I m not saying don t live here but I do recommend budgeting higher for utilities at least around $200-230 upper 1bed w/ den.
