Madison Apartments in Farmington Hills has everything a potential rapist or mugger is looking for. The large, dense bushes which surround many building entries are just far enough from the building wall to provide a perfect spot to lie in wait. An added bonus: many building entries are completely dark at night, since broken lights at Madison don't get repaired, they get removed! If the weather is inclement, you need not worry. Just come on in! Chances are good that the building door lock is broken, or the lock never engaged because the door doesn't close properly. Inside, you'll find many excellent hiding places - be sure to check out the area under the stairs on the lower level of each building. It's roomy, carpeted and dimly lit, allowing you to sit in comfort and have your pick of victims, since every occupant has to walk by there to get to the mailboxes. And here's an insider's tip: if you see a police car parked along the curb in front of a building, don't let it scare you. Several officers actually LIVE in this complex, and choose to park illegally in the fire lane instead of in the parking lot with the rest of the residents. (Word of caution - they may be lazy, but they're not dumb. They managed to get the NO PARKING - FIRE LANE signs removed from in front of their buildings. Apparently, the fire department was getting a lot of calls from worried and annoyed residents who wondered why cop cars were allowed to park in front of the signs all the time.) Finally, if you??re the type of criminal who doesn??t like to waste time simply lying in wait, once inside the building, go ahead and try to kick in a door. You may very well knock it right off its hinges! Consider one occupant's story: she has repeatedly asked management to replace the part of her door frame that holds the lock, since the wood has splintered and weakened after 35 years of abuse and neglect. The best they could do was to use 2 veeerry long screws to attach her lock, in hopes that they would hit solid wood deep inside the wall somewhere. If the management at Madison won't even pay for a $2 piece of wood from Home Depot to properly secure the door of a young, single woman, just imagine the possibilities! With 400 apartments, an energetic criminal could keep himself busy at Madison of Farmington Hills for weeks! Just be sure to bring your bug spray - you name it, they've got it. And remember that wasps don't just build nests on the OUTSIDE of buildings.
