thin walls

it's bad when you can hear your neighbor blowing his nose at night. or the base humming through the walls at all hours of the night while their kid screams at the top of its lungs. or when my other neighbors open and shut their kitchen cupboards, i hear that too. i love the space and the backyard view, but i hate hearing the parties next door every freaking weekend. also, if your neighbors smoke, you can smell it through the walls. my suggestion: buy ear plugs and keep a boombox next to your bed to play some kind of mellow music to drowned out the sounds of everybody else around you.

I wouldn't say the noise is that bad, if you live below someone with kids you do hear running and jumping though.

I would have to agree. The noise is horrible. If you live in the apartments on the south side, expect A LOT of noise. The walls are paper thin. I could even hear the people above me grunt as they used the toilet! If you live in the complex where you are still outside as you enter, with no hallways, then you won't have too bad of a noise issue.
