DO NOT LIVE HERE!

I moved into a two bedroom townhouse at the beginning of September. The girl that helped me with my lease LIED to me about the work that was going to be done on the rental before I moved in and she would not let me see it. NOTHING IS WHAT IT IS SUPPOSED TO BE. As soon as I signed my lease and called back with questions she was rude to me. I have had to submit a work order 3 times for my washer and dryer in the unit. I pay the rental for that and I can't even get equipment that works. All the appliances are old, and do not work. Getting them to do anything in a timely manner is not possible. It took a week and half the last time I had to have something done. My dishwaser is old, and doesn't get the dishes cleaned. The refridgerators settings either freeze everything in there, or it's not cold enough to keep the food... there is no in between setting. There are no overhead lights in the bedrooms upstairs. I have a switch that controls an outlet in the master bedroom, but nothing in the 2nd bedroom. The apartments are relatively new, have been there for roughly 5 years but they're not taken care of very well. When taking my tour of the actual apartment builings (not the townhouses) the hallways were dimly lit, and smelled of urine. It was very dirty. I was told I would have all new countertops, cabinets, carpeting, tile and paint through out the entire unit. The cabinets were painted over, the closet doors don't work, they only touched up certain areas that needed paint - and MISSED A LOT of spots. The second bathroom had nothing done to it, and there was a hole in the wall where the door knob had gone through the wall, that they left there. You will not get heat up stairs and you run out of hot water in the shower relatively fast. You also can not get hot water in the kitchen. It's luke warm at best. I would recommend find another place to live. If you can get through the things that are wrong with your unit, just becareful which leasing consultant you work with. Also, there is no security, there are a lot of kids running around all night screamiing and yelling, my car was broken into, nothing was stolen but the hood and truck was unlatched, and closed enough that I couldn't see it until I was pulling out and they popped open.

wow i've lived at Grand Oaks for the last five years and haven't had any of these problems. I moved in when they were still Country House and I am very happy with all the work the new owners have done for the property in the last three years. All my appliances work great and all the staff (maintenance and leasing) have been very helpful. These apartments are not new they were built like 40 yrs ago and in all my years living here i have never had a problem with vandalism...but i guess everyone experience is different.

Then that would be another lie from the leasing agent. She told me that the building I was moving into was 5 years old. I was also told that the unti was rented before me for several years and they would only replace the appliances if needed. they just keep replacing the stuff with other old stuff that doesn't work either.
