Wonderful Place to Live!

Years at this apartment: 2006 - 2007

Rent is very reasonable, even cheap comparatively speaking (use $ specials ect.)
Beautiful apartment, very clean carpet, white walls, everything in good working order
Maintenance is friendly, polite and quick to respond (although I hardly needed them)
Office staff is very friendly and willing to fix situations / work with residents
Main doors are locked, pain to bring in groceries but felt much safer!
The grounds are very nice, pond, and other amenities are wonderful!
The area is very quiet, cannot hear trains or highways at night
Residents are generally held to high standards in keeping up their apartments, no ugly draperies, no negligent behavior with appliances, no letting pipes freeze in the winter and so on
Parking spots are adequate, side-walks always cleared and maintenance picks up stray trash every morning to keep grounds beautiful
Nice, big storage units in the basement!! Great for storing bikes, suitcases, and lower chance for theft since front-doors are locked.

-Mail House burned down, what a pain to get the mail for a while :-(
-Cell phone reception truly is bad, but cellular companies refuse to remedy this
-The management company seems to be quite financially motivated -> double-check things!
-Only one washer and dryer per hall-way, so per 11 or so apartments, which can be a pain on weekends when everybody does laundry, also since it uses coins but no coin change machine is available it can be tricky.

Neutrals:
*Read the lease accurately, it stipulates a lot of specifics meant to keep the community beautiful! Maybe get a blank copy ahead of time.
*When breaking the least, follow exact procedure ahead of time, do everything in writing, else don't complain if you get stuck paying lease-breaking fees which seem to be very very stiff.

I would love to have lived here longer, and was sorry to leave this apartment behind, but moved overseas. If I moved back to the area, this or the other Auker properties would no doubt be where I would move.
