My husband and I were looking for an apartment for a year because we had sold our house and was building new home in Grand Blanc, but we needed a place to live until our house was finished. Now mind you, My husband and I make almost $100,000.00 per year. I'm a teacher and he's an insurance agent. We had lived in our former home for 7 years and our mortgage was more than the rent for Thornridge. Our credit was over the 650 mark so needless to say I was shocked at being denied a lease. It was an insult since we had paid over $700 to $800 the previous 7 years in our home. I made over 5 times the rental price alone without my husband's income. I even stooped as low and bringing in a co-signer for them from whom they took $50.00 and denied her as well because she had made a late payment on one of her credit cards.

I went to top management and showed them pay stubs and the credit report, the response was the same. I became totally frustrated and just could not believe that here it was I was in the process of building a $250,000 home and deciding which granite I want in my new kitchen, and was being denied a dinky apartment. Finally, I called other complexes in Grand Blanc. I did not experience any of those problems. I chose Fountain Pointe and was accepted immediately. Any idiot can see that a teacher and her spouse who make close to $100,000 per year can easily afford $600.00 per month. One (old) thing on an entire credit report should not stop someone from renting an apartment. The staff was rude and unsympathetic. I felt like I had been discriminated against because I know enough to know that most people who live in apartments do not have FICO scores of 850. If that were the case, half of them probably would be property owners and not renting. I hope that one day, Thornridge experiences the repercussions of their inefficient rental policies. As Michigan's economy declines, I'm predicting that it will be much more difficult for them to take people's application deposit and so easily deny them. No matter how "high class" they think they are, money can't be made if people are not renting the units. I would recommend that you visit other complexes in Grand Blanc who do not make such rediculous rental rules. I had never been so insulted.

What do you have on your collections on your credit report? If you have any sort of bad collections, maybe bad phone, medical or APARTMENT loans. YOU WILL BE DENIED! They would much rather see no credit then 650. 650 is pretty LOW for someone who make "$100,000 a year" Max credit is 850. Why is yours soooo low? Pay your credit card and by the way, what happened to your house? Did it foreclose? Did you pay SLOPPY? It's all about credit. You can have a good 650 and an UGLY, BAD, DIRTY, 650. Which is yours? Maybe you should have someone who really knows about credit look at yous and tell you to your face, your credit is NOT GOOD. I work with credit every day and I have seen what a 650 can be and can't be. Not only that, but if you came in with a "holyer then thou" attitude, I wouldn't want you in my house either! They don't care that you think you are hot stuff! Maybe you should humble yourself and take note that you had some great house and waiting for the other to be "built". Rent a hotel, you make enough money to go to the 4 Seasons!! I hope that someday you see the worl owes you nothing. Say thank you for what you have and be nice and smiley that YOU HAVE A DAMN HOUSE!!

I don't know you, but apparently you thought you should make personal attacks because of the apartment rating. Profanity and calling names is a bit extreme especially when you've never met the person and don't know the facts. Whatever credit rating job you work may be causing a lot of stress to make you respond so violently about an apartment rating. The reason the site was created was for people who are looking for apartments to get information. Its the potential renters who decide how they will use this information. By the way, not that its anyone's business, we sold our home to increase our square footage, not because we were in foreclosure. People do sell smaller homes to buy larger ones you know. Who said that the world owed me anything? A hardworking person who has an education and a successful career does not sound like someone sitting around waiting for a hand out. You respond as if you are the manager of the apartment complex or have some special interest in the complex. Who said that it was a credit card since you make the statement that I should pay my credit card. Sounds to me that your response to my rating has more to do with deeper personal issues than just simple disagreement. I have to get back to work. I'm not interested in continuing anymore responses to your emails, but I will be glad to respond to anyone who wants more information about the particular apartment complex and my experience. Thank you

People, people, people!!! Chill! Jeeze! With all due respect ma'am, you DO come over VERY hoity toity! Big deal you make ALmost $100,000 between the 2 of you....I wouldn't call that wealthy by far. And who gives a rip if you're picking out granite for your new kitchen?!?!?! You have some serious insecurity problems, much more than just an apartment renting bad experience.

How is things working out for you there? Is it a nice place to live? How picky are they about your credit there? Please respond to my personal email at jajuanna@yahoo.com because I am really curious and I found your particular answer helpful.Thanks.
