I have lived at Thornridge for 5 years now. The only problem I have ever had with them was when they wrote up the original lease... I needed a co-signer, and they wrote the lease is their name, not both of us. Therefore, according to policy, I cannot write personal checks for rent - I have to drive to my credit union every month and get a money order instead.
Other than that, I have been very pleased. Whenever I have a maintenance problem, they come right away to fix it (replaced fridge within 24 hours of it dying). The drives are promptly plowed and sidewalks shoveled during winter. (Someone mentioned salt in buckets, and said they had to put it out themselves - yes, there are buckets, but they still salt the sidewalks themselves, the buckets are for times that extra salt is needed.) The maint staff are out early working - picking up papers thrown on grounds, even cigarette butts have been seen to be picked up.
Pets are a problem - only cats are allowed, except 4 bldgs where a trial for dogs is taking place (I doubt it will work - people are not picking up the dog crap with the supplied plastic bags). Unfortunately, they charge a non-refundable deposit for each cat, and charge $20 a month (per cat) for cat rent...
Parking is ok, but you pay extra for a car port, and anytime I come home after 7pm, I have to park quite a walk away (I am handicapped - there are no handicapped spaces in front of building - only at each end of building).
Overall, I like living here. I have no problems with other tenants, the place is patrolled by police, etc...
