It's not the worst...

Years at this apartment: 2008 - 2009
So, I moved from here in May 2009. We moved in during May 2008, got a really good special with our first month free and such. During our entire stay there, we loved the office staff. They remembered our names, always had smiles on their faces and always had their paperwork in order (our previous place lost our checks and lease almost every month...it was very irritating). The maintenance man did have a tendency to let himself in our apartment whenever we needed something fixed but if you make sure the office knows that you HAVE to be there for ANYTHING to be fixed, it's not too bad. The guy, though foreign, is super nice.
We did have ants. They're pretty old units and a lot of people have pets so, you're going to have to expect that. Ant traps worked pretty well when that happened.
We had really good storage in the attic, though the amount of actual space in the apartment isn't enough for even one person, let alone two, in my opinion. The outside area is nice, we liked that.
AAAAAAND Heat. Okay, so, our door leaked, the heater did almost nothing and our electricity bill shot up to an obnoxious amount ($250 one month, we were shocked) while using the heat sparingly. The heater was right underneath the big, main window in our living room (which, also leaked like crazy) and had a small vent to the bedroom. Putting a sheet over the bedroom window helped hold the heat in (only for the bedroom though) but it still didn't keep us from being cold during the entire Michigan winter.
All-in-all, a very good apartment experience during the summer and in normal living. For winter-living...well, this is a very crappy place to live. =/
