My husband and I lived at Aspen Lakes from 2001 through 2003. The grounds are beautiful. We lived in two different apartments (one was a 1 bedroom and then we moved to a 2 bedroom) and both were facing the lake. Although we were on the bottom floor, noise was never an issue. Our neighbors were very friendly and the management staff was also very friendly and always responsive to our needs. We were known on a first-name basis. Sometimes maintenence would take a while to respond to our requests, but generally they were very good. Stephanie was the manager when we were living there and she's one of the sweetest people you'll ever meet.
The apartments themselves have a good amount of space compared to others that we looked at in the area. Also they're located within minutes from downtown and minutes from Knapp's corner (new IMAX, Meijer, several NEW restaurants) which is a definite plus. We always felt like our neighborhood was very safe and often would take walks in the evening.
This apartment allows dogs and has a lot of country-like acerage behind the complex where you can take your dog on walks. That's nice to have because it's like living in a country-like setting even though you're close to the city.

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Aspen Lakes and would recommend this apartment complex to anyone.
