excellent apartment complex!

PROS: First, the management is great! The complex is family-owned and the management is wonderful. They do quarterly maintenance inspections, changes of furnace filters, etc. They know most of the residents (even though there are about 800 units) and are very responsive to service requests and also take excellent care of the buildings and property.

The apartments themselves are very nice, well-constructed, and with many amenities, like microwave and a washer/dryer in every apartment, and also central air-conditioning. Covered parking is included in the rent; most apartments have garages, a few older buildings have carports. The location is good too, very centrally located and close to downtown (instead of way out in Kentwood or Grandville like so many apartments), yet in a nice residential area that is fairly quiet (except for the houses nearby with barking dogs). They also have excellent fire protection in place, with sprinklers in the halls and in many areas within the apartments themselves (I tend to worry about fire when there are so many people so close together, but here if anyone started a fire, it would not go far).

CONS: Just a few. First, they are expensive compared to many other local apartments, but, you get what you pay for. There is often a problem with hot water, especially in the winter. And my apartment is very dusty, but I do not know if they are all like that. Many of the tenants are college students, who are not always the most considerate people. However, the general noise levels are fairly low, especially considering how many units there are within a small area. And the management does have policies regarding noise and hours for running appliances like dishwasher and washer/dryer. For people who want recreational facilities, this is not the place for you. There is a basketball area and tennis courts, but no swimming pool or fitness center. And they do not have a lot of activities for the residents, just a morning coffee get-together once a month.

Overall, I would definitely recommend Bayberry Pointe. If you can afford it, it is a great place to live. Also, they recently finished their website, so check it out at www.bayberrypointe.com Qlkxv6lfLuuXn3BrtpO7
