I was *SOMEWHAT* lucky when I chose to live there. I went into the place in late 1998 when they had JUST newly remodeled. They were BEAUTIFUL inside...all new carpet...kitchens....it was great. And, I took the 4th floor on the north side. It had just been reopened from being remodeled and I had NO neighbors for a long time. LOVED it. I was like 10 steps from an entirely new laundry room that NOBODY had used, really.
Then...here comes the big blizzard New Years Day night. I was stuck inside from that Friday through like Monday. Does NOBODY ANYWHERE on that property own a PLOW' Granted, it wasn't a fun storm, but the city was out on the roads by Monday...where was the dang complex' I totally told the manager at the time (she was pretty cool, overall, though) that if I didn't get out of that lot, I would deduct my loss of wages from my rent. She went and SHOVELED me out.
Next....I wanted a cat. I was 28...I am a responsible adult. When I moved in, the manager at the time told me if I wanted one, I would have to give a full month's deposit. No problem. But between the time I wanted the cat and got the cat...different management. What a freakin' fight. I was livid.
In moves other people...gradually filling the joint up. Noise. Yep. Younger-types...college-types..which is fine if you are into that...I wasn't. I remember seeing a sign posted on EVERY door entry way about an open party in one apartment and that management OK'd it. WTF!!!! Violation of the lease'! I remember that night. I looked out my huge window from the 4th floor and looked down only to see a couple of guys who thought they were king crap for urinating along the fence in the parking lot. It was loud..and it sucked.
My neighbors moved it. IT SUCKED WORSE. A bunch of chicks who liked the music loud.
I don't know what it is like now....like I said, when I lived there, it was super-clean and redone....but I swear I was living in student housing.
Oh....and the H shape of the building is REALLY bad if you want to haul in stuff from your car in one trip. You are either going to take the stairs on the ends of building...or walk ALL the way in to the middle of the H for the elevator. You can't win with that one. It was just bad all around.
If you are into the party scene...please move here and stay away from other complexes who want it quiet.
