I have lived at The Crossings for nearly a year now (11 months). Up until the last 2-3 months I have not had any problems. Maintenance was fast to respond, etc...

Recently, maintenance has been leaving a lot to be desired and the icing on the cake was when I received a gift from my family on a saturday afternoon...nothing big mind you, but a gift none-the-less. I left for the night and on Sunday realized that the gift was gone. I live alone and have BOTH keys to my apartment. I reported this to the staff and in particular the manager who completely dismissed me. He said that it couldn't have been anyone from his staff since they would have left a pink form in the aparment, but moments before that, he even said that the ONLY other people with access to my 3rd floor apartment would be his employees.

I'm not only irritated at the fact that my apartment was entered without my knowledge (prior or post) but by the fact that management refused to look at the facts and investigate. They never returned my initial call, or called me back after i called again for that matter. Essentially, it was a breaking and entering and then they charged ME to change the locks on my apartment.

Due to the handling of what I felt and still feel to be a serious issue, I will not recommend this complex to anyone I know in the near future.

They have a security manager as well. Did you talk to the security manager? Did you file a report with the Sheriff's department (Gaines Township offices), did you notify your insurance company about the loss? What the limited amount of information that you are posting, it doesn't look like you did any of this. Thus, I can see why the manager you talked with would take it lightly. If you were as serious as you say you were, you should have filed a police report and ask them to investigate.
