I moved into Hidden Valley Townhomes in August of 2000. I leased the apartment sight unseen while living in So. California and was very pleased with the space, grounds, upkeep, etc until Brookline took over a year later! After that, I had nothing but substandard attempts at repairing my old, outdated dishwasher and stove. The dumpsters would NEVER be caught overflowing prior to Brookline?s take over. After Brookline, it was a health hazard days at a time as the dumpsters stayed overflowing with trash & debris. The straw that broke the camels back. There sending me a Notice to Vacate by 12/31/02 or risk being formally evicted for not signing a year lease agreement.(I had job problems and was consistently late on rent payments for several months in a row...but always paid within the month including late fees). When I took the rent to the office on December 6th I was told that they would not receive my rent because of the notice. I moved out on December 31st and turned in the key...In January, I was sent a notice that they were keeping my deposit to go towards the January 03' rent they were charging! You figure. After several attempts to contact a LIVE person, several fax notifications of my protest...I simply caved in and gave up. To date, I still have not heard anything from the company concerning the matter...neither has it showed up on my credit report. I image they took the $400 and ran with it!
