The Oakwood Manor has an adjacent rental building, The Hillmount.
This place is in ill-repair & mismanaged!
There is a registered sex-offender claiming an apartment in the building as his residence. The office states that he is not on the lease, so they are unwilling to do anything regarding the situation. (Despite SEVERAL passages in our lease which have to do with tenants and 'long-term' guests & their claim that registered sex offenders are not eligible for tenancy.)
They are in and out of our apartments with such a frequency that we're considering charging THEM rent! (and good luck getting any type of prior notice of entry other than an extremely vague letter a month in advance stating 'we're planning on doing this in a few weeks'-at which point they will half-way complete the job & then expect re-entry with no notice in another month and a half to two months to finish the job!)
The elevators are indeed constantly in need of maintenance. The air conditioner policy has been changed so that in order to have a window air conditioner installed, you are required to purchase the vertical variety. (between $500 & $600 for the 'base' brand) The problem with the heaters this year was not that they were putting out too much heat, it took numerous complaints from several tenants to get the heat turned on.
Parking is ALWAYS a problem. We're constantly barraged with flyers from the office re-stating the parking guidelines...of which ALL are violated each and every day-of which NONE are enforced. There are approximately 30 non-covered spaces for the 70 apartments in the building. (let's not forget in addition to the armed robbery that took place in the rear entrance last year, that our car was stolen from the lot)
There is NO security. (even though there are prominent stickers on the windows that state the building is patroled by Pinkerton)
