Unless you like living with bugs, STAY AWAY!

I have lived here since Jan 2008. I live in a 2 bedroom, 2 bath apartment on the basement level. We will start with the good - the rooms are nice size, and I really do like the lay out of the apartment. The staff are pretty good, but have been extremely disappointed lately.
First of all my heat is very expensive - we paid 160 one month during the winter and were not even warm because we NEVER turned our heat over 60 degrees. I believe this is due to the fact there is no insulation, so if you live on the bottom floor, you are paying to heat the people above you.
Second - I was very disappointed that the pool we were so excited to have was not open until just last weekend (July 12th). Doesn't give us a lot of time to use it, summer is half over already.
Lastly - We have had SERIOUS bug problems for OVER one month. It started with a few spiders here and there during June. We made a complaint the middle of June when we noticed we had 2 or 3 more types of bugs appearing and not just one or two. We collected them one day and we had 18 bugs in less than 48 hours!!! And those are only the ones we found. They did get someone to spray about 5 days later... but it didn't help much. That only irritated a new bug - EARWIGS! We game homem to about 40 or 50 earwigs in the bedroom window right next to the bed. They did come spray the next day, but the bugs didn't go away. I requested to be moved to another apartment, as the staff told me that no one else has a bug problem, and the one they had ready for me had 7 dead bugs including ants, spiders, and a june bug on the floor and one live earwig in the closet. As I investigated more, the people below and next to me also have spiders and earwigs in their apartments. I have no idea why they haven't made a complaint, maybe they do not have as many as I do, but I know I am NOT the only apartment with this problem, even though they say that I am.
I asked to get out of my lease, as they do not have a bug free apartment to put me into and she said she couldn't do that. WHAT'''' Needless to say I am not happy and I am still trying to get out of my lease. Wish me luck.

I agree with this post. Heat costs me on average $140 a month and my heat is set at 65 degrees for a 2BDR.
THERE IS A HUGE BUG PROBLEM HERE! If you like living with spiders and other tiny nasty things I don't know the names of...live here. I DO NOT plan on renewing my lease. It's only March and I've already seen bugs crawling inside my apartment (and I'm a neat freak). I've contacted the office about this last summer, so they lied to this person who posted this, because I have a problem with them!
I'm not a fan of the office staff. And tend to agree with most of the posts on this cite, that they are aweful and only look out for themselves.
But, I do have to say that the maintance staff is GREAT! They know my name and say hi to me all the time. I think the office staff should take after the maintance staff on this one... the office just cares if I pay my rent on time and it doesn't bounce. I've never heard them call me by my name.

I read online that they are now giving a $300 gas credit for moving in here! I paid $160 a month all winter long!!! The $300 wouldn't even get me through 2 months!
And my heat was set at 62 degrees all winter.
I would also have to agree that there is a HUGE bug problem! I hate spiders and other little creepy crawly bugs. These spiders are the size of quaters and make a "cruch" noise when you kill them. Their are also a lot of beatle like bugs too. I feel really good about saying that I kill between 4-20 bugs in one day.
I've had the maintance men come spray my apartment. But, if you don't get it done every week...the bugs just keep comming back.
I really hope you take the advice of these residents here and don't move in here!
