I have a couple of issues with Ridgewood. Ever since I've moved in I always get notes on my door- saying things like "be careful..." "don't park under your carport..." and the best of all "we are comming into your apartment...". I've lived here 8 months now... and I've saved every one of their little annoying notes. 28 so far.
Yes, they have a legal rite to enter your apartment with notice. But, they've entered it already 11 times!!! Without me asking them to come! Now, I'm not new to apartment living but, I've never once at any other apartment complex bother me this much. What gets me is that they don't even ask to walk through your private bedrooms and baths...they just plow right through..demanding all sorts of things.
Next, I totally love the maintenance men who work here. They are hard working men...who put up with a lot of crap from Laurie (the manager). What gets me is that she just hired a 3rd woman to work in the office (which they don't need) and didn't hire anyone else to help those two guys!
Also, I have a "student rate" for my apartment. Now, don't let them get you like they got me. Theres a woman with two kids who got the same rate as I did and shes not a student and she moved in the same week as I did. I feel its just a ploy... suckered me though.
Last, YOU WILL HEAR YOUR NEIGHBOORS! And I can almost hear you, the reader say. "Yeah, no big deal!..thats apartment life". Don't fool yourself. It's not normal to hear noise 24 hours a day... I hope you buy good ear plugs!!!
There is also a drug problem here. Right outside my apartment I saw many drug be passed. At this complex they have a tennis court that is not lit up at night, so stay far far away from here. I've called the cops and I know my neighboors have as well.

I'm updating this post, as I just last week got another note on my door. And yuppers...they came back in my apartment! So make that 12 times now!

Since when is it the responsibility of the office staff of an apartment complex to fight crime? If there is a "drug ring" at Ridgewood Village, I would hope the people that live there would contact the police when they see suspicious activity.

I just moved in a week ago and within 5 days of living there my crackhead/heroin addict neighbors above me: a. threw someone off the 2nd story balcony. b. destroyed their bathtub and busted the pipes so that their water flooded my apartment. c. had to have an emegency eviction because the first eviction didn't get them out. I'm moving out this week. My carpet smells from mildew and there's a giant hole in my bathroom ceiling. Great place to live. Glad I moved my kids there.

I bet you work for Ridgewood Village! It becomes Ridgewoods responsiblitiy when their isn't ample lighting throughout the complex, which makes it easier for shady people to come in. And yes, I know for a fact of 4 different familys who have called the police many many times. Its a matter of good morals, keeping Ridgewoods name clear of bad management, and it keeps their leasing rates higher... why wouldn't Ridgewood care about those things... after all arnt they here to make money? Plus they you will always see ppl sell drugs out front!

I completely agree with these statements (not the review that states its not the mang. responsiblity) . In fact the management just came in again this past Friday May 29th. I have noticed that living at this apartment they do enter more than any other apartment ive ever lived at and leave notes on my door all the time. Whenever you make a maintance req. the ladies in the office sit on it for a few days before they give it to the maintance men. I have personally seen drugs being delt here on the property (i have called the cops). Ive had someone park in MY PERSONAL parking spot over 20 times if not more and the office staff does nothing about it! The office told me "the parking spots are not reserved" even though they have your apartment number on them and "we will give that sed person 48 hours to remove their car" For a place that says "its all about you" they really mean "its all about them". Lauries favorite statement is "its just business". She doesn't care. Its VERY CLEAR she hates her job by her actions and statements. Also, children run rampet through out the complex. Parents do not watch their kids! So far this summer my car has been hit with a baseball, a volleyball and I even saw a kid run his bike into my car. (And this has happened in and out of my carport) Also, you WILL HEAR YOUR NEIGHBOORS! THE WALLS ARE VERY THIN!!!! The people for the most part who live here are good, hardworking ppl. But, their are a lot of college students come and go since it's so close to Calvin College. (dont let the name of the college stop you...these kids like to party it up!)
