I have to agree with a lot of the things the person who wrote the "Just ok" review. I did however live at this complex for 2 years. I was going to the community college, so the walk to school saved me a bunch of money, but I also would drive to the parking ramp, only 2 1/2 blocks away because I did not always feel safe. Many homeless people around this building at ALL hours of the day or night. They have a buzzer system to let people in the building, it also has a key pad, and swipe but my key card stopped working a number of times, and ANYONE was able to buzz any apartment they wanted. They actually had a nice computer stolen from the community room because some random guy was let in. They DO NOT watch the security cameras like they say they do. I lived in a two bedroom apartment with a friend from high school. The hot water ran out after one shower and had to be recharged. The window latches were older and half of them cracked. We also had a few spider problems. Otherwise the place was really nice for a couple of months. However, my roommate up and moved out, promising to pay the rent due. Of course she did not, and the apartments worked out a "deal" with me that I could just pay my half. Four months later I began to get notices that I would be evicted or taken to court. One time I cleared things with the office manager at the time and it was settled but the second time they came out and finally told me they were not able to meet the agreement of our "deal". My parents had to help me pay the rent past due. =( They also said they would pursue her individually to get that money and fees. They did not. I have been dealing with this issue for more than two years in and out of court now. Also we had a shared parking spot on the second level of the parking garage, which not only was SO tight to park a small car into, the car elevator would stop working ALL THE TIME. I must have been late to work a dozen times because I was trapped in it. They DO NOT have enough parking spots either, so half of the time residents were parking on the street and getting parking tickets regularly. Now, my second year was not as bad in terms of the roommate situation. The apartment staff definately did not get better til towards the end of my second lease. I lived with my cousin this time. We actually didn't have any problems with the maintence guys this time around, they were fast and friendly. We still had some cold showers, and the dishwashers are not of good quality. They did allow us to have two cats instead of one. They also raised our rent THREE times. Im sorry but this complex is supposed to be low income housing and based on income, and I was BARELY making ends meet. The office staff still seems like they didn't have a clue and you most likely would have to remind them a million times to get something done. They actually had a crew put up new signs and such on the building and they would enter through our windows tracking their boots on our floor and they actually broke a lamp of mine...which took FOREVER to get a replacement check for. This was one of the times they did not have permission from the office to come into our apartment too...but we didnt know that so let them in. When we moved out it took EXACTLY 30 days to get our security deposit check in the mail, we were told it would take no more than two weeks. As for anyone who is waiting on their check, they have 30 days and no more to get it to you, they must explain damages to you, and if they take more than 30 days, you get more money, legally. I forget how much but it is at least $100. I would not recommend this complex to someone. =(

It is not the management's responsibility to "work something out" when a roommate bails on you, which should be stated in your legally binding contract, which you signed. All they want is their monthly rent. It's a business, not a charity.
As for the homeless; you live in a downtown, urban area. An area with missions. Do your research before moving into places. Your complaints are just a part of life, a part of life that your parents should not be bailing you out of at this point.
