I chose Windrige because of its proximity with Calvin College, where I was attending. I was unfamiliar with the area, but came to realize during my 9 mo. lease that Camelot Dr. is quite an infamous, somewhat "ghetto" area in SE G.R. I found Windrige, however to be quiet and safe enough (I never witnessed or heard of any serious crime.) It has a noticable Eastern European immigrant population, and I found these neighbors to be polite, tidy and quiet (I feel bad because I had a constant stream of seedy-looking college figures up and down the stairs at all hours.) As far as staff goes, I dealt primarily with Christy who was always helpful, understanding and polite. My apartment interior was older but clean (carpet and paint are kept new.) The best part is this: Windrige pays the gas bill!! I'd do it again, but not recommend it to the "oh my god, lock the door, it's a black ------- american man!" sort that I grew up with. If you move to Windrige, don't be a square!
