The management and ownership is lax and will do what they can for you to incur additional charges. We went into their office over a month ahead, told the lady (did not get a name...big mistake) we needed the final bill amount. She looked it up on her system and scribbled a note. Now they are charging us one months rent of $900 due to failure to notify.

When we discussed this with them they denied that we spoke to a lady and that a man helped us and gave us the forms to checkout...untrue. They also said they put a notice outside our apartment which we did not receive....why not in our mail box where it would not get lost or moved by anyone in the hall' They site Fair Housing Laws as why they cannot write off this phony charge.

All in all....do not rent from them...they do not care about the tenant...only their bottom line.

I as well have had great experiences here at WC. I receive prompt service, and have been treated well by the office staff from the top on down. Anyone (regardless of who you rent from), should be familiar with the requirements stated in their lease when it comes to moving out. These things are spelled out thouroghly, and need to be followed.

I'm sorry that you had a problem in communicating properly regarding your move out date. I think that it is unfair to say that the management does not care about the tenant. I have found the exact opposite to be true. I am always surprised at the quick response when we incur a problem and the manner in which things are corrected. I never feel that the management is trying to "cut corners". Quite the contrary, they are trying to maintain the quality and integrity of the property. The new "Going Green" initiative is an example of doing the right thing in spite of the bottom line. It is expensive to empty those huge recycle bins, but it is the right thing to do for our community and our future. I always have a sense that the management looks out for all of the tenants and trys very hard to make this the best community possible. I don't know what went wrong for you, but it is not an indication of "not caring about the tenant and protecting the bottom line."

I am also very sorry that you have had an issue with the commucication regarding your move out process at Woodland Creek. As the Marketing Director for Cambridge Partners, it is my goal to ensure that our communities are upholding the highest standards of service to our residents and maintaining our company's mission statement. If you felt that your move out procedure was not explained properly to you, we sincerely apologize. However, it is our standard procedure to explain this process to every person very clearly from the day you move into our community and sign your lease; it is very clearly written into your lease that you must give at least a 30 day notice at the end of your lease term if you choose to move out (which is the standard procedure with any rental community). If you moved out within your lease term, you would have needed to give a 60 day notice, which is written into the Lease Termination Addendum that you would have signed with your lease. I'm sure if you review your lease documents you would find that information is very clearly defined. Our policies are very much the standard for the apartment industry, you will find this to be the case with any professional property management company. If you would like to speak further about this, please feel free to contact me directly at 616-954-0015 or kmarkwat@mailcpi.com. To the current residents who took the time to respond to this posting, thank you! We appreciate all of the wonderful people who make Woodland Creek their home! Karen Markwat Marketing Director
