I have to agree with everyone who wrote bad reviews about Eastland Village Apartments. I live on the 8 Mile side, and things are just as bad over here. The only thing that management care about is collecting their rent. They don't care if you have a problem or not. Their 24 hour Emergency hotline takes just that to fix a problem...24 hours. Hello!! What happend to the word EMERGENCY' But if you're late paying the rent, management will be ready to evict you and send you to small claims court. The apartments are over priced. The only apartment that is very nice is a model. They false advertise about the rent price. In the for rent magazine, Eastland apartments are priced at $570 for a one bedroom apartment. Well when you try to get your apartment rent at that price, it's a whole different thing. Why do we have to take our clothes to the cleaners'' We should at least have a laundry facility or working pipes where we can hook up our washer and dryer. Not to mention, we almost died of carbon monoxide poisoning. We had a gas leak in our apartment. We informed management about our stove way before this happend, and they refuse to replace our stove. Not to mention I have a newborn. It take an our hour for our oven to cut on. Since the EMERGENCY maitenance crew take 24 hours to come out and fix a problem, within that 24 hour period of waiting, we could have died. Thank God for DTE. The parking situation on our side is horrible. The slum lords moved some slum tenants into the building next door. They had company all day and night. They park in the ONE parking space that you're allowed. They they have the audacity to throw eggs at our cars. The only thing that management said is to make sure we had good car insurance. We should throw eggs at her car so she can see what it feel like. To continue about parking, you're only allowed one parking space. It cost an additional $20 a month for a carport. If you park on the side of the parking lot, you're taking a risk of getting your car tore up, because the parking lot is so narrow. The windows in the basement are old. The window for our apartment unit has a dryer connection in it. Because the window isn't made out of glass (it's made out of cardboard), the cardboard keep falling which opens up the invitation for racoons, cats, mice, rats...whatever to get into our basement. Given, the apartment does look nice. But how can you enjoy a nice looking apartment if you have to deal with all the other problems. This is no longer Eastland Village Apartments. It's Eastland Village Projects. If you want to live in the projects move here. If not, don't hold your breath.
