There are 2 sides, but I wouldn't call either side ghetto. I live on that side, but in the nice apartments in the back, that cost a little more, but are worth it. The floor plan is spacious, and was very clean when I moved in. I origrnally live on the water side, and have no complaints. If you do move here, fork out the extra rent and live in the nice apartments. We have a privater entry, we hardly have any noise from our neighbors, and if we do, every one is nice and you can ask them to tune it down. For the lower rent apartments, I have noticed a smoky smell in the stairwell, and the carpets are worn, but what do you expect with 12 or more families tracking in the Michigan bad weather every day. The staff is very kind. Sometimes forgetful. I've tole them my bathroom is leaking for 3 weeks, and they keep forgetting. That's ok, because I know they'll fix it even if it gets really bad. I'm looking for a new apartment, and am having a hard time, because I am so spoiled with VGSC. It's beautiful.
