INTRO:
I enjoyed my two years residing at Benson Hills so I felt the need to share this with others. I wouldn't have ever left the area if my job wasn't relocated. Benson Hills location is perfect, it's right in the middle of Haslett yet its tucked away in it's own quiet community. You'd never think you were so close to the Meridian Mall or MSU campus. Haslett is an overall great community and Benson Hills is committed to serving excellence to the community.

COMMUNITY FEELING:
If you're reading this because you are thinking about moving into Benson Hills then I'd like to share my experiences there with you. I lived on the bottom floor so it was easy to simply let my dog out. I didn't experience much upstairs noise as I assumed before moving in. I lived in a smaller building with only 8 units including mine. I felt like we had a sense of pride in our building and I felt accepted. This friendly experience allowed me to share many positive experiences with my neighbors.

FAMILY:
I don't have any kids but Benson Hills seems to be a great place to raise children. I've been told Haslett has a state accredited school district. There seemed to be a fair amount of families as well as singles or couples living there. The outdated playground equipment was also recently replaced.

MAINTENANCE:
The maintenance staff seemed outstanding. If I called about a minor issue such as my closet falling off the track they responded within the hour with courtesy. I never ran into any emergencies while living there but there's an after hours maintenance number you can call for emergencies so I always felt secure.

OFFICE STAFF:
The office staff was more than willing to help me with my apartment decision. I even asked to see different floor plans on three different occassions but the property manager Angela was more than eager to assist me in finding the right apartment for me. I enjoyed walking to the clubhouse to pay my rent each month because Angela's office is near the dropbox so she'd always initiate a plesant conversation when she saw me. I've lived in other apartment complexes in my prior rental history and Benson Hills by far had the most courteous and helpful staff. Very professional attire and attitudes.

GROUNDS:
The grounds are very nice. They're kept up regularly by a professional lawn service. There are many trees within the property which gives it a nice neighborhood feeling. Some of the parking lots were re-done recently, one being mine. Many flowers are planted in the spring and summer which adds color to the property.

PARKING:
There was always plenty of parking for me and guests. I had a carport which was very convenient in the winter.

SAFETY:
The safety in Meridian Twp. is exceptional due to a state accredited police force. Meridian Twp. police are very professional although I've never had to call upon them.

OVERALL:
I gave Benson Hills 4 stars because it's all-around a wonderful place to live. I would give it 5 stars but I like to save 5 stars for brand-new apartments. The apartments at Benson Hills are well maintained but they're over 20 years old. Which is fine given the monthly rent rate.
