In three years of living at lake o the hills apartments I have experienced several problems in my apartment that have went unfixed. The carpet was old when I first moved in and is even worse from everyday wear and tear. The furnace makes a loud noise when the heat is turned on and is not energy efficient. The heating bill is outragous and the main bedroom is always freezing cold to the point I have to sleep on the couch in the living room. It takes several requests to get someone to fix anything and then the maintenence people tell you its your fault when things break. I personally love the location but the maintenence is horrible. When they did remodeling on the exterior of the building and put new windows in they left wood scraps and saw dust inside of my apartment, never cleaned up and never painted the trim on the inside and it looks horrible. Complaining does nothing. Just my opinion as a three year resident. If it wasn?t for the location I would move right away. In the winter it is very icy outside and no one shovels the walkways properly or puts ice down.
