I went looking at these apartments based on ratings off this site. When I got there, the apartment itself was pretty nice for the price (was quoted $440 a month for 1bd 1br, heat included), but the woman in the office I dealt with was very terse and unfriendly (and seemed to be forever hiding/guarding something when she spoke to me), which was quite the put-off.
In addition, a huge concern for me was that the apartment complex requires you pay your water bill. No big deal, you'd think...except that I did some research with the city of Holt themselves and discovered the apartments do not have individual water meters - they simply divide the one big bill amongst how many tenants are in the complexes. So no matter how much you conserve, you're going to find yourself paying for the water bill of those around you and all their leaky fixtures, not to mention the cost of watering the lawn (which is huge).
So basically, if the prospect of ridiculous utility bills are your thing, the apartments themselves aren't too bad inside. Remodeled kitchens, etc. Plus the outside was quite nice and there seemed to be ample parking. But the notion of having the water bills handled in a manner as shady as this was enough to steer me far, far away from this complex.
