I have lived at Burwick Farms for the past year. This will be a very honest review so you can make your own mind up from there. When we first moved in, it was great. The management was willing to answer any questions, etc. About 2 months into our lease the "greatness" wore off. We had a problem with our dryer vent and it took 2 months to fix it. Management told us that she had to get the guy to come out and blow out the vents. When the maintenance man finally came out about another problem, we asked about our dryer and he said it wasn't even on the list! We have mold growing in the corner of the bedroom and on the windows from it being so "damp." Parking is a nightmare! We pay for a garage so at least we have somewhere to park! Pets are welcome and most owners do not pick up after their animals. The smell in our building was awful some days and in the spring when the snow was melting and it was getting warmer, the aroma from the yard was awful! Don't get me wrong, some owners actually pick up after their animals. But most do not. You can hear your neighbors next door talking, walking, snoring, etc. You can hear when they are going to the bathroom (I am not joking) and when they flush. I have heard the bathroom fan in the apartment above me before and gotten up to turn my off thinking it was ours! They are nice apartments, good in size. Applicances are older but work sufficiently (except for the dishwasher). All the tines are broken in the dishwasher so we never used it. The scenary is great. You can sit outside and look at the pond or trees or yard. Wildlife is abound. Rabbits, squirrels. Management tells you "come in with any problems or questions" and they will say "we will look into it" or thanks for letting us know. But I am sure they just ignore you when you leave. Upper management leaves a lot to be desired. Don't be fooled by how nice they treat you. Unless you want to "party" with them or kiss their butt, they don't want to help you at all. I would say if you don't have to deal with management and rent a garage, then they are great apartments. Rent is kidn of expensive just like all apartments in Howell. Keep in mind, you do pay for water, trash removal, cable, electricity and gas. Honestly, it will run you an additional $35 a month for water, cable is an extra $30 a month, a garage will run you about $35 a month. Water is prorated between all the tenants. This kind of bothered me especially when I realized that the people on the ground floor with gardens were actually running sprinkers to keep them looking nice. They are nice size apartments and usually relatively quiet. I had a few great neighbors but felt kind of funny when I would hear them talking "privately" and then see them the next day.
