This particular apartment complex isn't in the best of shape however with the change of ownership, things have been looking up. They are cleaning up the apartment complex, fixing things that need addressed, and seem to have a nice friendly staff. There are issues regarding the apartments, including the small black fly infestation that seems to plague our building. They come out from the drains or so I'm told, and we've been combating them for a few years now.
The walls are a little thin, we've had nothing but irritation from the upstairs neighbors who apparently think they are the next great Disc Jockeys of Jackson, as I write this, its 2:09am and my walls and windows are shaking from the loud music. As a father with (2) kids under the age of 4, this really irritates me.
Apartments aren't the best in the world, but you get what you pay for I guess.

In addendum to my last review:
Springport Glen a.k.a The Polo Club, has a tendency to let just about anyone into the complex. This in itself causes quite a few problems as we've recently had sexual offenders running around, and the child abuse cases over the last few years have made the newspapers. We've gone ahead and bought a home and have since began our moving out of this place, its not safe for my family in my opinion and quite frankly there are too many things that I am personally unhappy with.
1. Maintenance requests are typically running several months behind, recently we had a guy show up to fix our ceiling fan only I had gone ahead and fixed it myself 3 months prior to their arrival.
2. The small black fly infestation is out of control, we're not the cleanest of people when it comes to the apartment, but this is beyond ridiculous. I did a MAJOR cleaning of our apartment, bleached the floors, stove top, counter tops, ran vinegar through the drains, and made sure there wasn't a speck of garbage or food sitting out, then I placed fly paper strips over the kitchen sink and bathroom sink, 2 days later, there were so many flies on each roll that you couldn't see the initial coloring of the fly paper.
3. Security isn't being emphasized, we've had weeks where our outside light to the building has been burned out, the security door broken, in some cases its left hanging open for days at a time, and we've had gatherings in our hallways where we've witnessed people smoking weed and drinking.
For anyone looking at this place for their family:
I highly discourage you from getting an apartment here, this is one of those apartment complexes better left to a couple or single occupant without kids, and I'd recommend a front door security measure, my preferred method was and still is a 357 magnum. Just don't shoot first and ask questions later if someone knocks on your door at 3am to ask for a cigarette, its happened to me 4 or 5 times in the last couple of years I lived there. Granted, first it was a crack junky / prostitute who wanted to solicit more than simply getting a smoke, but nevertheless, it happened.
