Arboretum

 

There are a few nice things about the arboretums, but mostly bad.

I'll start with the positives.

You and your roommates have separate leases so when your lazy friends "forgets" to pay rent, your not in trouble also.

The pool and volleyball nets are nice for the summer.

Also, the gym and free tanning beds on site are a plus.

Plenty of resident parking.

Now, moving on to the bad stuff.

When we moved in, our carpet was disgusting.

No matter how much we vacuumed, it just never got clean.

Our bathtubs clogged about once a week.

It was really gross having to shower in half a foot of water for a few days until the maintenance guy showed up to fix it for us.

The sprinkler right outside our patio was broken so instead of watering the grass, it shot up like a geyser and flooded our patio and all the grass around, making it a muddy sopping mess.

Maintenance never fixed it, no matter how much we complained.

Finally our neighbor who did lawn care fixed it for us.

The fire alarms in the whole building went off about 5 times during the year i lived there (usually at night) and it took them almost 2 hours each time to turn them back off.

Standing outside in the winter at night for 2 hours is not fun!! Also, as i said before, resident parking was great but visitor parking was a nightmare.

My friends would never visit because (especially on the weekends) they couldn't get a parking spot.

Here's a tip: if you have someone coming to visit for the weekend, park your car in a visitor spot thursday afternoon to hold it for them.

Anyways, there were some perks to the arbs, but also a lot of crap!!
