I've been through my fair share of apartments, and my father owns over 9 complexes himself, so I expect a certain amount of truth and respect with the landlords/managers. The managers at Campus Court really let not only me, but everyone who moved here down. They are very respectful up until you sign your contract, then good luck with everything else.
- I was supposed to move in July. It was then postponed to August and I was never notified, and then postponed AGAIN until late August. I had to change my trailer rental date twice and was lucky enough to still have one when I did move in.
- "Ample parking" is what they advertised. The parking lot was not finished until late fall, and even today it is still a complete mess. Never a place to park and I usually end up parking in the "visitor's parking lot" up behind Lawson Arena on WMU campus. I don't even bother inviting people over it's that bad.
- They put in very poorly done speed bumps with no signs or warnings anywhere. I have no issues with speed bumps, but some are so huge my sedan bottoms out and has damaged my car... another reason not to park in their parking lot.
- The free cable is nice, the free internet is worthless. I believe dial-up is more reliable than this. It somehow became worse when they tried to issue login names and passwords, which of course all the passwords were the same so you could easily steal someone else's screen name. Only 1 computer per name, so if you have multiple computers or a online gaming system, you're screwed.
- Maintenance is poor at best. My brand new toilet decided not to flush anymore. It took them over 1 week to get someone to fix it (I live(d) in a 1 bedroom 1 bath). All I know is Rotor Rooter couldn't keep enough people down here, and I'm sure much of my rent went towards their bill. My ice maker has never worked and still doesn't work.
- Safety here is lackluster. There were supposed to be deadbolts, police patroling, and cameras to keep crime to a low. I lived with no deadbolt for over 3 months, I rarely see police ever, and zero cameras. My car has been vandalized twice due to drunks before parking on WMU campus.
- Apartments are nice but made with crap materials. I walked to class today and saw at least 2 buildings with gutters falling off due to cutting corners and poor workmanship. My apartment isn't worth the $620 pricetag, and they've already tried charging me more next year. No thanks.
The ONLY 2 things I like about Campus Court are 1) the 3/4 basketball court you can play at until midnight every night and 2) the gorgeous brunette who unlocked my apartment door when I lost my keys. I should have got her number.
